Damon Tumes

Professional Bio
Dr. Tumes earned a PhD (Adelaide, 2009) and pursued post-doctoral training in T cell immunology and epigenetics (Chiba University, Japan) and systems immunology (SAHMRI, Australia). Discoveries include 1) defining the epigenetic repressor Ezh2 as a central regulator of CD4 T cell development and functional plasticity and 2) that a novel antibody capable of simultaneously blocking IL-3, IL-5 and GM-CSF effectively inhibits lung inflammation and fibrosis. His lab investigates the causes of T cell-dependent and T cell-independent eosinophilic human airway diseases, how microbial sensing regulates epigenetic programming of the airway, and the roles of Th2 cytokines in immune responses in cancer.
