Valerie is a consultant paediatrician at The Royal Children's Hospital, Principal Research Fellow at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. Valerie is founder of the Childhood Hearing Australasian Medical Professionals (CHAMP) Network which developed national guidelines for medical investigations and management of childhood deafness. She is member of the Australian Newborn Hearing Screening Committee, the Australian Hearing Hub UNHS Expert Working Group, and the AIHW Ear and Hearing Advisory Group.
