Current attitudes to paediatric tonsillectomy are depriving many children of timely and optimal care. I will present outcomes for 317 one and two year old patients who had adenotonsillectomy over a 6 year period in a rural hospital. The tonsillectomies were extracapsular and preformed with low power monopolar diathermy, mostly as day procedures.
